The early 1965-1973 Mustang is a fun car to drive, as long as you go straight. Put your classic Mustang into a tight corner and expect to have full control and you will be disappointed!!

Let me introduce you to the concept of "Maximum Tire Patch." Looking at a typical tire you would imagine that the entire face of the tread makes contact with the road. Not so, only a portion of the tire actually contacts the road. This is because factory alignments (especially Fords) feature a Positive Camber causing the tire to turn outward at the top and inward at the bottom causing a reduction in tire contact area. On a good factory alignment you only have a portion of tire patch contact vs. what you could have with a zero camber alignment.
(See diagram: Illustration is an example of a Mustang with NR System - Increasing handling and improved tire life).

Neg Camber Illustration

Borrowing technology from modern race cars several companies have created suspension kits utilizing a negative camber adjustment kit. These kits correct the camber problem and give your Mustang a zero camber on straight driving and a negative camber on corners for maximum tire traction. The most obvious benefit of any of the three kits listed below is improved turning ease through corners and increased tire life due to improved alignments.
Minor modifications to your Mustang are required by all negative camber kits. All kits require moving the upper control arms down approximately 1" from factory location in shock tower. This is a easy procedure that must be done for maximum results with all kits.

Pro Motorsports camber kit. The Pro Motorsports kit uses factory upper control arms. This kit features aluminum wedges that fit under the ball joint and position the upper control arm into a negative camber. Alignment is achieved by use of shims as a factory system is aligned. The kits include new ball joints, all bolts and hardware and instructions.
The Pro Motor-sports kit has been in service for approximately 10 years and performs well. All materials are of the highest quality. Many track Mustangs feature the Pro Motorsports Camber kit. $239.00

Global West Negative Roll kits. Global West was the first company to take the "Maximum tire patch" concept and apply to the early Mustang. The Global West kit features all new upper control arms that are built for extreme use. In fact, the Global West upper arms carry a Lifetime Warranty—no matter what you do to them!!
The Global West Negative Roll upper control arm is shortened approximately 1" to bring the tire inward and the ball joint mount is positioned downward giving the desired negative camber. The upper control arm shaft kits are made from Del-Alum and are self lubricating (besides being extremely heavy duty)!! A cross bar runs between the ball joint mount and upper control arms shaft to offer lateral support. Alignment is achieved with the use of shims as a factory car is set-up.
All kits include ball joints, hardware and instructions. You can't go wrong with the Global West Negative roll kits!! $549.00
