Mustang JBA Tri-Y Headers

JBA part # 6651 headers (Tri-Y) are designed to fit 1964-1/2 - 1970 289/302 (not Boss) Mustangs equipped with 4 spd manual or C3/C4 automatic transmissions. These headers are not designed for 5-spd applications.

These headers provide significant increases in torque and horsepower throughout the RPM range and allow for maximum ground clearance.

To help make sure you choose the correct headers and exhaust for your Mustang please refer to the chart below. If you still have questions, give us a call.

Note: These headers will work with a stock mechanical clutch using the factory equalizer bar used on 65-66 Mustangs (non-Hipo). If equalizer bar is modified or worn replace with a new one. These headers have mandrel-bent collectors for transmission cross member clearance.

Specifications: 1-1/2" stainless steel primary,1-3/4" secondary, 2-1/2" collector, 3/8" laser-cut flanges

Engine 289/302

Cylinder head 289/302/5.0 with stock Windsor port location

Transmission cross member: stock

Block: stock

Clutch: Stock mechanical with factory equalizer bar

Transmisison: 4-speed , C3 or C4 auto

Motor mounts: Stock

Bell housing: Stock or scatter shield. Scatter shield may require clearance.

Starter: Stock or mini starter OK.

Suspension: Reproduction upper-a arm mounting studs may need to be shortened.

Steering: Manual steering OK. Factory power steering OK with power steering ram bracket.
